On Thursday 9th April 2026, we ran an EFAW for Dave and his team at McDonald Water Storage.
One of our supervisors, Neil Campbell, attended an event hosted by Hydrasun and Scottish Engineering called Emergency First Aid at Work. He spoke very highly of it, so it put us on a path to train our workforce.
Working with Mike Hope of Sandstone Training, 10 of our team members went through first aid in detail, covering scenarios we may face in our factory.
Hand stuck in rollers, chopped off by a saw, crushed by a fallen pallet from a forklift…and the finale was an RTC in the car park.
It has built our confidence in how to handle a situation should it arise.
And we hope it is never needed. We now have a greater ability to handle situations with bleed kits, burn kits, and additional first-aid kits around the building.
Dave Stewart - Joint Managing Director.
As the Chief instructor of Sandstone, it was great to see that Dave and his team had certainly taken on board the message about having the right kit. It was also good to see that they had realised the importance of knowing how to use that kit. Mike Hope - Chief Instructor
